This Privacy Policy explains how Pickd (“Pickd,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Pickd mobile app. By using Pickd, you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

Pickd is a daily social opinion app for iOS. Each day everyone answers the same five binary “this or that” cards, then sees global results and how their friends answered.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address (via Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or email/password), your chosen username, and display name. If you sign in with Apple using “Hide My Email,” we only receive Apple’s private relay address.
• Your activity. Your daily picks, completion history, and streak.
• Social connections. The friends you add and friend requests you send or receive.
• Submissions. If you submit a card idea, we store the question text you provide and your authorship for attribution.
• Device & notifications. A push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you reminders and friend alerts, if you allow notifications.

You can use the core of Pickd without an account; in that case your picks and streak are stored only on your device and are not sent to us.

How we use your information

• To provide the daily game, calculate global results, and show you your streak and history.
• To let you add friends and see each other’s picks.
• To send notifications you’ve opted into (friend requests, streak reminders, when your submitted card runs).
• To review and improve content, and to keep the service safe.

What we share

We do not sell your personal information. Your username, display name, and daily picks are visible to friends you have added. Aggregate, anonymized results (how everyone voted) are shown to all users and cannot identify you individually.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Messaging) and Apple/Google sign-in to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the in-app Profile → Account screen, which permanently removes your profile and associated data. You can also email us to request deletion.

Children

Pickd is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including Firebase’s managed infrastructure and access rules, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
